lea bridge waterworks: appeal against refusal for heritage listing rejected by DCLG

Disappointing news - the Department for Culture, Media and Sports has rejected the request to overturn English Heritage's decision not to list Lea Bridge Waterworks - details below. The timing of the decision is particularly unfortunate as local campaigner and historian, Katy Andrews, has secured agreement from Thames Water for local groups and individuals (predominantly those concerned with the industrial heritage of the site and the Lea Bridge Green area in general) to visit the site in the new year to get a better understanding of what remains.
